Arabica Coffee India Monsooned Malabar (Arabica India Monsooned Malabar)- the birthplace of this coffee roast is the plateau of southern Malabar (Indian district of Kerala / Koshin).
This is a rather original coffee, unlike other varieties. At a time when goods from India to Europe were delivered by sailing ships, coffee beans of this variety were exposed to special monsoon winds and rains for weeks or even months . As a result, raw, unroasted Arabica beans from the Monsoon, absorbing moisture from monsoon showers, almost doubled in size, acquired a characteristic yellow-bronze hue. And the coffee drink made from these beans received a special unique flavor.
Nowadays, the green beans of this type of coffee are subjected to a special "monsoon" processing. It consists in the fact that the collected coffee is placed in tourniquet bags and stored in a special room from June to November - a period of special activity of monsoon winds. Thus, Monsund Malabar coffee gets a characteristic appearance and taste without a long journey in the hold of a sailing ship.
The taste of this coffee is thick, rich, with moderate acidity and a slight chocolate hue, complemented by notes of dark spices and tobacco.
